Job Title: Research Assistant

1. Research and Data Collection

  • Assist in designing research tools such as questionnaires and interview guides
  • Conduct fieldwork, surveys, and interviews
  • Collect and compile quantitative and qualitative data

2. Data Management and Analysis

  • Clean, code, and organize datasets
  • Perform basic statistical and qualitative analysis
  • Support interpretation of findings

3. Literature Review

  • Conduct desk research and review relevant publications
  • Summarize findings to inform project design and reporting

4. Reporting and Documentation

  • Assist in drafting research reports, briefs, and presentations
  • Ensure proper documentation of methodologies and findings
  • Maintain organized project records

5. Project Support

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to research projects
  • Coordinate meetings, field activities, and stakeholder engagements
  • Ensure compliance with research ethics and standards

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field

Experience

  • At least 1–2 years of experience in research, M&E, or data-related work is an added advantage
  • Experience in field data collection and report writing preferred

Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word)
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, or similar) is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
